From the Heart Counselling

Experience a gentle path to healing in peaceful Waimauku. Find solace within my rural home, nestled in the native valley. If preferred, online sessions are available from the comfort of your chosen space.

Compassionate Support for Mind, Body and Heart

I meet you exactly where you are, offering a warm and compassionate space where your healing journey is led by you and grounded in cultural safety. My practice is deeply aligned with a Te Ao Māori worldview, ensuring you are supported with integrity and empathy as we walk together toward emotional wellbeing. We will collaborate on a path that honours your identity and inner life, so please feel free to book a session to ensure a heart-centered fit, noting that koha is occasionally available.

Meet Emma Martins Bennett

Welcome, I am Emma, and I invite you into my tranquil Waimauku sanctuary—a space dedicated to ensuring you feel deeply heard and held. My work is anchored in professional excellence, backed by a Bachelor of Applied Counselling and provisional NZAC membership to guarantee ethical and secure care. With expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I integrate creative arts, neuro-diverse insights, gender-affirming practices, and somatic trauma-informed methods tailored to your personal frequency. While I draw inspiration from nature and animal-assisted therapies, my primary focus remains on fostering a nurturing atmosphere where your natural healing can unfold.

I am also actively working toward specializing in ACC sensitive claims support, neurodiversity support, gender identity and couples therapy remaining steadfast in my commitment to walking beside you with genuine empathy and professional warmth.

Helpful Insights

I start with a gentle, open-hearted dialogue to truly hear your story. From there, I help you define your path, creating a kind and purposeful space that is carefully tailored to support your personal growth.

What does our therapeutic journey look like?

How long will we spend in each session?

We dedicate 60 minutes for individuals and 75 minutes for couples, providing a calm environment for deep reflection and healing. Kindly note that cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment will incur 50% of the fee.

Is it possible to meet on a screen?

Yes, I offer welcoming digital sessions so you can engage in therapy from your own space. I ensure these online meetings feel just as safe and supportive as being here in the valley.

How do you protect my personal information?

Your confidentiality is my utmost priority. Our sessions are strictly private, guided by professional ethics to maintain a sacred, safe space. In alignment with these standards, all discussions remain confidential unless there is a risk of harm to yourself or others; in such cases, we would collaborate on a supervised safety plan to ensure your well-being. All notes and personal data are kept in a secured location.

How can I begin my path with you?

You are welcome to reach out whenever you feel ready to talk. Our journey begins with a gentle introductory session to ensure you feel truly safe and supported as we work together. Koha is also occasionally available to those who may need it.
